Easy Grader
QuickGrade turns wrong answers into percentage scores in a single tap. It’s the fast, mobile-friendly grade calculator built for real classrooms — no plastic wheel, no signup, no clutter.
Grade Calculator
Letter grades in the chart use the flat 10-point scale (90–100 = A, 80–89 = B, and so on). The plus/minus chart below uses a different scale, so a 91% shows as A here and A− there. Supports up to 500 questions.
How to Calculate a Test Grade
Use this formula to calculate a percentage grade:
Grade Percentage = (Correct Answers ÷ Total Questions) × 100
For example, if a student answers 22 out of 25 questions correctly: 22 ÷ 25 × 100 = 88%. The student's score is therefore 88%.
QuickGrade makes this calculation automatically, but understanding the formula helps teachers and students check results manually.
Example Test Scores
| Total Questions | Correct | Incorrect | Score |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10 | 9 | 1 | 90% |
| 20 | 18 | 2 | 90% |
| 25 | 22 | 3 | 88% |
| 50 | 45 | 5 | 90% |
| 100 | 87 | 13 | 87% |
When Should You Use an Easy Grader?
An Easy Grader is useful when a test or quiz is scored primarily by the number of correct and incorrect answers. Teachers can quickly determine a percentage without performing the calculation by hand for every student.
For courses that use weighted assignments, category averages, or a required final-exam score, a different calculator may be more appropriate. Use the weighted grade calculator for category weights, the final grade calculator to find the exam score you need, the GPA calculator for a 4.0-scale average, and the letter grade calculator to convert a percentage into a letter.
QuickGrade Is an Educational Calculation Tool
QuickGrade provides calculators and educational guides for understanding common grading calculations. Results are intended to help users perform mathematical calculations quickly. Individual schools, colleges, instructors, and districts may use different grading policies and grading scales, so users should verify official grades with their institution or instructor.
The teacher's grading wheel, reinvented for the web.
An Easy Grader is a grading tool teachers have used for decades to turn a stack of paper tests into percentage scores without doing the math by hand. The original was a sliding cardboard wheel — pick the number of questions on the outer ring, line it up with the number wrong on the inner ring, and read the percentage through a small window. QuickGrade is that same idea rebuilt for phones, tablets, and laptops. Type the total questions, count the wrong answers, and the percentage, letter grade, and full grading chart appear instantly.
QuickGrade is designed for teachers, tutors, parents, and students who need a convenient way to calculate and understand grades. Because the math runs in your browser, results are immediate and nothing you enter is uploaded or stored.
Faster than a wheel, cleaner than a spreadsheet.
Grading a class set of 30 papers with a plastic Easy Grader wheel takes real time — line up the numbers, squint through the window, copy the percentage, repeat. QuickGrade removes every step. Tap +1 Wrong as you spot each miss, or press the W key on a keyboard, and the score updates live. Turn on the quick chart to hand students the full percentage-to-letter-grade breakdown for that test length.
- Instant. No submit button — results update as you type.
- Precise. Optional decimal display when you need the exact percentage rather than a rounded one.
- Private. Runs entirely in your browser. Nothing is uploaded or saved.
- Free. No signup, no paywall, no ads inside the calculator.
- Portable. Works offline once the page loads and fits every screen size.

Frequently asked questions
What is an Easy Grader?
An Easy Grader (sometimes called an EZ Grader or Quick Grader) is a tool teachers use to instantly convert the number of wrong answers on a test or quiz into a percentage score and letter grade. QuickGrade is a free online version — no plastic wheel, no signup, and it works on any device.
Is this grade calculator really free?
Yes. Every calculator on QuickGrade — the Easy Grader, weighted grade calculator, GPA calculator, final grade calculator, and letter grade calculator — is completely free with no signup, no paywall, and no hidden charges.
Does the grade calculator work on mobile?
Yes. QuickGrade is fully responsive and loads quickly on phones, tablets, Chromebooks, and laptops. Teachers commonly use it during class on a phone or tablet while grading paper assignments.
What grading scale does QuickGrade use?
QuickGrade reports a raw percentage score alongside a letter grade based on the standard US 10-point scale: A 90–100, B 80–89, C 70–79, D 60–69, F below 60. See the full grading scale chart for plus/minus and 7-point variations.
Can students use QuickGrade too?
Absolutely. Students at every level — from elementary school to college and university — use QuickGrade to check test scores, calculate weighted grades, work out what they need on a final exam, and track their GPA.
How is the percentage score calculated?
The formula is simple: (number of correct answers ÷ total questions) × 100. Enter the total questions and the number wrong, and QuickGrade computes the percentage instantly, with optional decimal precision.
Does the Easy Grader handle partial credit or extra credit?
No. The Easy Grader scores a test by whole correct and incorrect answers only. If an assignment uses partial credit, extra credit, curves, or weighted categories, calculate the adjusted score first, or use the weighted grade calculator instead.
Does QuickGrade store or share my data?
No. Every calculation runs in your browser. Nothing you type is uploaded, saved to a server, or shared with any third party. You can even use the Easy Grader offline once the page has loaded.
Should I treat the result as my official grade?
No. QuickGrade performs a standard percentage calculation, but schools, colleges, instructors, and districts may apply different grading policies and scales. Always verify an official grade with your instructor or institution.
What's the difference between the Easy Grader and the Grade Calculator?
The Easy Grader on this home page grades a single assignment by counting wrong answers. The Grade Calculator hub combines weighted categories, final-exam targets, GPA, and letter-grade conversion for a whole course. Use whichever matches the question you're trying to answer.
